On Friday the students and I read a story titled Howard B. Wigglebottom Listens to His Heart. We discuss the story and what lesson it teaches us. We then discussed "making a movie" in our heads as a story is being read, which helps us remember the story events. We split into groups and "made a movie" of certain pages on large white paper. The students worked well together to make their pages come alive. We had some great ideas! On a page when Howard is shy and scared, the group colored his face red to show his feelings. On a page when Howard is getting laughed at, the group wrote HAHAHA on the page. Our "making a movie" activity was a lot of fun. We finished by making pages for a class book titled Mrs. Zale's class listens to their Hearts! Comments are closed.
