Classroom Management:
In order to create an environment for all students to become successful learners, I have established five basic classroom rules:
1. Body to self.
2. Use school appropriate words.
3. Raise your hand to volunteer and/or ask a question.
4. Be responsible for classroom work and supplies.
5. Listen well.
The students will participate in a “Caught being good” positive/minus behavior system with the use of the app Class Dojo. The goal for each student is to remain on positive the entire day by following the classroom rules, participating in classroom activities and completing the daily work. At the end of each, students who are on positive will color their calendar green. After 10 green, the students receive a reward coupon.
If a student has a negative behavior the following will occur:
1. A student will receive a negative point. If the student remains negative/red at second recess, the student will sit at the reflection table and discuss their behavior and miss half of recess.
Star of the week:
Each student will be the Star of the Week once during the school year. Please follow the following schedule per day:
Monday: Bring back the “All About Me” Poster and explain to the class.
Tuesday: Bring in an item that describes a hobby/sport
Wednesday: Bring in a favorite book for either the teacher or the student to read.
Thursday: Bring in an item that represents family/pets
Friday: Free choice item to share.
Snack:
Please send a healthy snack for your child daily. Snack will be enjoyed during the morning. Snack is a working snack: read alouds, class work, etc. will be going on during this time. All snacks need to be peanut/tree nut free.
